William Mager

William is a writer based in Bristol, supported by Arts Council South West, The Literary Consultancy, ScreenSkills and the British Film Institute. He has a particular interest in creating compelling and diverse characters that reflect his own lived experience. He is one of 12 screenwriters taking part in Channel 4’s 4Screenwriting 2022 scheme, is a staff writer on two new TV series, and has another TV series in development. When he’s not hard at work in his office, he can be found making Lego, playing video games with his son, doing DIY or reading a good book.

Brighton Beach

Chrissie’s just leaving the office when she sees him standing at the 23rd St subway entrance, looking up at the sky. When his eyes drift down to meet hers, the jolt of sudden intimacy sends her walking in the opposite direction. She never took the New York City Subway.
