I am an 19 year-old bilingual high school student from Budapest, Hungary. I've been writing poetry for the better half of my life, and I self-published my first volume of poetry in a release limited to 100 copies about a year ago. I'm fascinated with works of the collective conscious of humanity, so I mostly take inspiration from religion, folklore and mythology.

“The Stars and Icarus”, “Out of Order” and “An Official Removal of the Nicknames”

Takáts Márk retells the myth of Icarus in the poem “The Stars and Icarus,” with an ingenious twist that can’t help but make you laugh at the irony. And in the companion poem “Out of Order”? Oh, the hubris of the poet’s ego.
