Heady

Rumbling rain makes stable

rhythms that soothe

rinse clean thoughts that pry—scratch

        between

the hemispheres at duel.

Adversaries trapped in the same cavern

each tired of the other’s predictability,

wishing they were half

of a different twosome.

Gun Show

The right adores their rights,

Civil rights are catching chill

from pervasive frozen water,

an entertainment channel masked as a news source says

the diabolical need to be caught.

Many have TPS, pay taxes and harvest

fruit from land that belongs to no human.

Has anyone noticed their grocery bill has blown up?

Tired of the Second Amendment being the star.

The Fifth and the Ninth deserve a glossy cover.

Right to due process, the rights of the people are not restricted

to those specifically mentioned in the constitution.

Love thy neighbor.

Unfortunately, empathy and fairness aren’t in fashion—

daily mass shootings and threat of martial law

pepper the feed.

Since someone opens fire on private citizens daily—

Maybe we should shut down gun manufacturers instead of the government?

Nahhhhh! Go to church, Jesus saves! Take care of your husband and he’ll protect you.

Welcome to the Orwellian gun show.
