K. A. Hough is a Gold Coast based writer. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Arts in English and Writing at UNE (NSW), where she is a Vice-Chancellor's Scholar. In 2015 she was awarded the Lucy Elizabeth Craigie Award, the Richard B. Smith Memorial Prize and the Australian Federation of Graduate Women Inc. (AFGW) NSW (Armidale) UNE ARTS AWARD. She had a story shortlisted in the Gertrude Stein Award for Fiction 2018. Her essay on gendered mental illness was published in Feminartsy in July. Her memoir is being published with Verity LA in 2019. She is writing her first novel.
